One Two Three Four...

Hey, friends. I wanted to share some news with you.

I'm pregnant!! {Um, again!} We're expecting baby number four {who is a BOY, we found out earlier today} in early December.

I thought about making some kind of awesome tear-inducing announcement video {see: example}, but I'm 18 weeks along and haven't been able to find the time yet. {As you can see in the awkward self-portrait above, I can't even find the time to ask someone else to take my picture, or at least clean my bathroom mirror. I DID spend 45 minutes on Pinterest today, so rest assured my priorities are all in line.}

If you've done the math, you've realized that our baby boy will be born before Max and Maggie's third birthday, so yes, four under three is what we're looking at here. Honestly, it was a lot to take in at first, and I had a hard time emotionally for a little while. I feel so ungrateful saying it, especially when I know there are those out there who are struggling with infertility and would give anything to be pregnant. We just didn't expect this baby to come so soon.

I think I first began to feel really excited when Candis posted this photo on Instagram. It reminded me why I love growing this {not so} little family of mine so much, why it's worth it, and how great we are together. {Thank you, Candis. Reading that caption still brings tears to my eyes, every time.} When we had our first ultrasound and heard the baby's heartbeat, all my doubts flew out the window and now I cannot wait.

We are beyond excited. Having babies is kind of addicting, I've found. ;)

  2. Such exciting news! I've found that whenever I try to plan out my life (and that of my family), Heavenly Father just sort of chuckles and throws me a curve ball (ie. little Milo). Now I know to just go with the flow and hope that I can stay sane enough to enjoy these years with little ones all around. What a blessing for your family! Congrats!

    1. Thank you! And I agree; after every baby {or set of babies}, I find myself thinking about how in a few months I'll have time to do things that *I* want to do {like finally getting around to decorating our house, for one}. But that time never comes; another baby does. ;) And I find myself excited and grateful, every time.

  4. I was hoping you would post this before you came because I have every intention of shopping for maternity clothes with you and IGing every moment.

    And HOORAY for another boy. That is just perfection.

    This baby is coming to such a good mama and family. What lucky ducks you all are.

  8. Yay for more babies! And yes, they are addicting. Even at my most tired and stressed I look at their little faces and can't wait until I have another little crazy running around. Jericho said he wants to get more sleep before we have a 3rd but I don't think that's going to happen until they're like 10.

    Babies are always a blessing. You're getting quadruple blessings in three years! Look at you go!

  9. Ummm you make pregnancy look way too good! I'm a bit jealous ;)

    And if there's anybody who can handle 4 kids under 3, it's gotta be you. You make motherhood look good, you always seem poised and relaxed and your kids always have the biggest smiles so you're obviously doing something right!

    And another boy! How fun to keep the numbers balanced!

  11. Congratulations. :) You'll be even more tired but you can do it. "Let's keep swimming" as Dorie from Nemo says. That's what I have to keep thinking and realize the blessings now and in years too come. Best wishes.
    If you need advice on having some many kids in a short amount of time... Sis Carolyn Henderson is the best to ask. She had me "beat" 4 kids in under 3 years like you will have. (I mean my life is still hard with 5 young kids but it is getting much better!)

I'm so excited for you! Our babes will be a month apart, give or take. And seriously, how can you look that fantastic at 18 weeks. *sigh*
